On the basis of this foundation it covers querying SQL Server databases using the traditional "pubs" database. The book moves on to advanced data retrieval, Data Manipulation and then discusses ancillary topics that add to understanding, namely Views, Triggers, Indexes, Data Integrity and finally covers Transactions, Scripts and Programming.
