An Introduction to the Twentieth Edition of the Dewey Decimal Classification

This is a programmed text book introducing the 20th edition of the Dewey Decimal Classification scheme. It begins with the problems of classifying simple topics, using the index and schedules, and proceeds to guide the user through the problems of building notation to represent complex topics, using auxiliary tables to augment notation, or using notation from one part of the scheme to augment another part - a process sometimes involving several layers of notation. A student text designed for self-tuition, this is the fifth introduction to an edition of DDC produced by the author.
