Even God Suffers

Christianity is first and foremost good news. At its heart is the promise that even death is overcome. Yet all too easily the truth of this becomes distorted, as some churches suggest that a saccharine-sweetened package through this life is the reward of Christian faith. Suffering is seen as a failure and a lack of faith. This book argues that real Christianity is earthy, rooted and real. In becoming human, Jesus experienced some of the worst downs of human life - poverty, illegitimacy, betrayal and injustice, and when people experience these things today, they find Jesus present in them.
