Out and About

Richard Barsam's memoir recounts his early life in a small town in California, coming out to his family, earning a Ph.D., and moving to spend the rest of his life in Manhattan, where he became a college professor. He encountered numerous celebrities in his work and leisure, including Mick Jagger, Greta Garbo, Sean Connery, Bobby Short, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Lloyd Wright, Leni Riefenstahl, and many others. He has published numerous books as a film historian, traveled the world with his life partner, and lived a fulfilling life. He lives in Manhattan.
