Jose Barluenga holds the chair of Organic Chemistry at the University of Oviedo, where he is currently developing his research. Since 1997 he is also the President of the Organic Division of the Real Sociedad Espa?ola de Quimica. During his career, Professor Barluenga has published more than 540 research articles. Julio Alvarez-Builla is full professor for Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Chemical Sciences of Alcala University, Alicante (Spain). He is also the scientific director of the University's fine chemicals pilot plant. During his career, he has published more than 130 articles and holds 33 patents in diverse areas of organic and medicinal chemistry.
