These Proceedings contain the 28 papers presented at the Conference, together with discussions. Among the papers reporting on work in progress by the various research institutions are a number describing work of immediate practical application by industry, for example, the use of bar codes in materials handling, the purchasing and acceptance testing of presses, the application of operational research to production and planning and an account of a training simulator for press operators.
