Philosophical Dissertations

James Balfour was elected to the chair of moral philosophy at the University of Edinburgh in 1754. His "Philosophical Dissertations" (1782) was the last book to be published in his lifetime. In it he reconsiders some topics explored in his earlier books, regarding liberty and necessity and matter and motion.
