Pablo Casals

Drawing on research from four countries, and authorized by his family, this biography sets out to uncover the complexities of the life of the cellist Pablo Casals - the crises, the risks and sacrifices, and the sources of his musical inspiration. It discusses his three marriages (the last to a woman 60 years his junior), and his friendships with other great artists, composers, writers and statesmen. During the research for this book, the author collaborated in a BBC TV "Omnibus" documentary on Casals.
