This guide to the landscapes of the Holy Land describes car tours, walks and picnics throughout Israel, southern Jordan and the eastern Sinai. While highlighting the relevant biblical associations, the book concentrates on the countryside - from the luxuriantly green Jordan Valley in northern Israel to the southern desert wildernesses - the Negev, Jordan's Wadi Rum and the Sinai. It gives approximately 2500km/1500 miles of car-touring routes described in detail (nine car tours), with relevant visa and border-crossing information, plus hotel, guesthouse, B&B, kibbutz recommendations. There are also 38 walks described in detail, with accompanying double-sided touring maps at a scale of 1:50,000 plans of Jerusalem, Acco and Petra.
