Tying in with a BBC1 television series, this book features Clive Anderson on a journey to various parts of the world to explore specific communities and investigate topical stories of "trouble in paradise". He takes a humorous and often wry look at the different cultures, issues and affairs of people coping with the changes taking place in their own corners of "paradise". The places visited include Goa, where an epidemic of golf-course building is threatening the hippy haven of Arambol, the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific, where the economy is based on missile testing, and the strict church-going community of South Harris in the Outer Hebrides.
