The Deming Prize, initiated in 1951, is a Japanese award for business, and was named in honour of the man who influenced the growth of Japanese businesses after World War II. This book outlines the philosophy of management with which the name Deming has become associated, and which is centred around the notion of quality as a central standard. It also shows how Deming's precepts relate to the growth of Japanese businesses in the last 30 or 40 years.
