Some materials have specific properties that contribute to energy conversion and can transform heat directly into electricity: this is the Seebeck effect.Today, manufacturers are seeking to maximize profits by minimizing losses, as in the case of gas-fired power plants, where heat loss is very high. This postulate implies improving efficiency by recovering waste heat: this is electricity cogeneration. The idea here is to recover waste heat through the Seebeck effect, using thermoelectric generators.By solving the mathematical model of a thermoelectric module using the bismuth telluride semiconductor with Pdetoolbar, a window in the MATLAB software tool, we were able to see the interdependence between voltage and temperature. And we can see that temperature diffuses normally in the semiconductor and that voltage is of the order of millivolts.
