Lord Peter Wimsey is invited to view a corpse which has been deposited in the bathtub of an architect. The corpse is quickly identified as that of Sir Reuben Levy, the City financier; and just as quickly it is proved to be someone else. Where is Sir Reuben? And whose body was in the bath?
