Sian Phillips brings the remarkable honesty, personal insight and memorable writing that characterised "Private Faces" to this second volume of autobiography. "Public Places" tells the story of her second marriage to actor Peter O'Toole. They were one of the country's most glamorous couples but as O'Toole's career took off with "Lawrence of Arabia", Sian began to find her own increasingly sidelined. A famous hellraiser Sian describes the mad and wonderfully impulsive times alongside the tempestuous, insecure and often lonely periods in their marriage. Funny, moving and without bitterness, it is a riveting account of life with one of the world's most famous actors as well as her subsequent and much publicised third marriage to younger actor Robin Sachs.
