The Hungry Spirit

This is a radical synthesis of Charles Handy's philosophy of organizations and the individual in a dramatically changing social, business and political environment. In his characteristically personal anecdotal style, Handy describes why he believes materialist capitalism is self-limiting, efficiency may be the enemy of a cohesive society, and religion and science hold only false certainties. He then builds a new theory of meaning, based on the search for identity, the role of the arts and the idea of immortality.
