An introductory course in spoken and written German for the general reader, this book/cassette pack assumes no previous knowledge of the language. By means of graded units focusing on communication in a variety of circumstances the reader is likely to encounter - travelling, shopping, ordering a meal - the book aims to give the reader proficiency in reading and writing simple texts and joining in everyday conversations.
