IV Medication Administration

This laserdisc uses full motion video, graphics and narration to review the procedures for giving IV medications through a peripheral line. It includes four simulations: it demonstrates administration of a bolus through an existing IV line, including how to determine compatibility and rate of administration; it shows a bolus medication given through a peripheral access device (heparin trap); provides the opportunity to practice giving two incompatible drugs via piggy-back through an existing IV line; and deals with a drug to be given piggy-back through a peripheral IV line, when the primary IV solution is incompatible with the ordered drug. System requirements: IBM InfoWindow or compatible system with an InfoWindow emulator.
