While in the first two acritarch volumes the geographic coverage of the material was almost completely limited to those authors publishing in journals edited in Europe and North America, this present volume contains taxa by authors as widely apart as, say, Argentine and India, thus preventing the Catalog from becoming an exclusive, North Atlantic affair.
