In 1992, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, founder of Sahaja Yoga and God's Feminine Power asked Dr David Ingles to write this book. In a career in economics that spanned over 40 years, David worked in the Queensland state government and with ministers in the Hawke Government, as well as in research positions with the Australia Institute and Australian National University. He has been a follower of Sahaja Yoga since the 1980s.

Economics Enlightened is the synthesis of David's involvement in Sahaja Yoga and decades of experience as an economist.
