The Operation of the European Social Fund (1983) examines the process of European integration at work by taking a detailed analysis of one particular area, namely the European Social Fund. It looks at the ESF in itself, its origins, objectives and finance, and the application of the Fund in Britain. A tentative conclusion is formed as to the success of the ESF in promoting British integration into the EC.
