H. KENT BAKER, PhD, CFA, CMA, is University Professor ofFinance at the Kogod School of Business, American University inWashington, D.C. As one of the most prolific finance academics, heis the author or editor of 18 books, and more than 150 refereedarticles in such publications as the Journal of Finance, Journalof Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Financial Management,Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Portfolio Management,and Harvard Business Review. He has consulting and trainingexperience with more than 100 organizations. Professor Bakerreceived a BSBA from Georgetown University; MEd, MBA, and DBAdegrees from the University of Maryland; and an MA, MS, and twoPhDs from American University. He also holds CFA and CMAdesignations.
GREG FILBECK holds the Samuel P. Black III Professor ofInsurance and Risk Management at Penn State Erie, The BehrendSchool, and serves as Program Chair for Finance. He previouslyserved as senior vice-president at Kaplan Schweser, and also heldacademic appointments at Miami University (Ohio) and the Universityof Toledo, where he served as the associate director of the Centerfor Family and Privately-Held Business. Professor Filbeck is acoauthor of Derivatives and Risk Management and editor ofCFA Basics: The Schweser Study Guide to Getting Started. Hehas published more than 70 refereed academic journal articles thathave appeared in the Financial Analysts Journal, FinancialReview, and Journal of Business Finance and Accounting.Professor Filbeck serves on the editorial board of the Journalof Business and Economic Perspectives and as a board member forthe Southern Finance Association.
