Each volume of this illustrated reference provides substantial critical excerpts and biographical information on eight to 10 major poets from all eras. Recent volumes have featured such notables as Nikki Giovanni, John Milton and others. Entries provide an introductory biographical sketch, excerpts of a wide variety of critical analyses and sources for additional reading. Whenever available, comments from the poets themselves are included. Volumes include cumulative title, author and nationality indexes.
