This study attempts to compare education development and the economic performance trajectory of two post-conflict countries, Cambodia and Uganda - from 1993 for Cambodia and 1986 for Uganda. Such an examination involves two aspects of analysis: the relation between education development and economic performance, and the role of the state in educational development. The study argues that in the post-conflict countries, for the positive correlation between education development and economic performance, state must play a very active role.
