About the Authors Jeremy Spindlove
Jeremy Spindlove is presently the Regional Director in Loss Prevention, Health and Safety for a world leader in third party logistics management. He has spent thirty years in both public and private sector security operations and administration on an international scale. During his police service in Great Britain he was the first officer on the scene at the now notorious Guildford pub IRA bombings. During his service as an aviation security expert with British Airways, he was assigned to trouble spots in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, spending two years in Baghdad and extensive duty in Beirut. Jeremy Spindlove also served as the Director of Security for the Vancouver International Airport Authority in British Columbia. He has presented seminars on aviation security to IAMTI at the University of British Columbia. He has collaborated on this text with Clifford Simonsen, a career military police officer, criminologist, writer and teacher. This has allowed the combining of a unique blend of writing experience and acumen with first hand knowledge and personal experiences. Jeremy is an active member of the American Society for Industrial Security.
Clifford Simonsen Presently the President of Criminology Consultants International, Clifford Simonsen has over forty years of experience in criminal justice, security and law enforcement. As a career Army Officer, he retired as a Military Police Colonel. His background includes a Ph.D. in Public Administration, (with an emphasis on criminal justice administration and deviance), from Ohio State University and a Masters in Criminology from Florida State University. He is also a graduate of the Army War College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. Dr. Simonsen is the author of dozens of articles on the fields of crime, criminal justice, delinquency and security and is the author or co-author of several texts in a broad range of disciplines. These include Corrections in America: An Introduction (8th Ed), Juvenile Justice in America (3rd Ed), Private Security in America and Security Administration. Dr. Simonsen has taught at several universities, full-time or as an adjunct. He is an active member of the American Society for Industrial Security (Lifetime Certified Protection Professional), the American Correctional Association, the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences and the International Association of Professional Security Consultants. Dr. Simonsen is pleased to be associated with Jeremy Spindlove and share in his depth of experience with terrorism on both a local and international scale.
