This study examines labour relations, organizational change and organizational culture in a developing country by focusing on independent Zimbabwe. The author has gained open access to three prominent organizations (including the Anglo-American corporation, one of the largest corporations in the world) and provides details of the internal operations of key companies in a changing environment. This volume also looks at the essential tension existing in many developing countries between the goal of social equity and economic growth. It demonstrates that a corporatist framework at national level and modified conflict perspective at organizational level can be used to explain the conduct of national labour relations and organizational behaviour in developing countries.
