Giovanni Scorzo was born in the Calabria region in southwest Italy and raised in Liguria, which is also known as the Italian riviera, on the northwest coast of the Mediterranean. He first learned how to cook from his mother and perfected his skills in culinary school and later in several different fine restaurants throughout Italy, including the Five Star Savoy restaurant in Florence. As chef and owner of Andreoli Italian Grocer in Scottsdale, Arizona, Scorzo was a Best Chef in the Southwest finalist in the 2022 James Beard Foundation Awards, which are considered the Oscars of the culinary world. He has appeared numerous times on the popular Food Channel program hosted by Guy Fieri, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.
