The European Commission's proposals on the harmonization of value added tax, excise duties, stamp and capital duties, and direct taxes on business profits, will inevitably affect British businesses. This book outlines these proposals as well as the current tax regimes of the other member states. It then suggests strategies whereby British companies can best exploit these conditions in 1992. The "CBI Initiative 1992" aims to provide British business with information and advice on the most important aspects of the single European Market. The companies that have contributed to the series are all founder members of the CBI.
