The work examines generally the Nigerian legislations criminalizing same sex relations and particularly the 2013 Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act, which makes it a criminal offence for a person to engage in same sex marriage in Nigeria; or being already married outside Nigeria, to declare such union illegal in Nigeria. The focus of the work is the impact of these legislations on certain constitutional and internationally-recognised rights of persons which these laws apparently violate.
