The aim of this student textbook is to introduce the mathematical and geometrical principles supporting computer graphics, and to explain important concepts. A set of integrated concepts is presented whose mastery is necessary for a thorough understanding of the mathematics and geometry involved, and several important concepts are emphasized, such as parametric geometry, transformations, vectors, matrix methods, data structures, algorithm development and computational efficiency. The text also covers a range of computer applications referred to as geometric modelling. The study is intended for the undergraduate student specializing in computer science, engineering or applied mathematics, whose major interests are in computer graphics, CAD/CAM systems or geometric modelling. It can also serve as a supplement to postgraduate courses.
