Microtunnel Construction

Development in microtunnel construction to date has led to a certain standardization, and has contributed to safer tunnelling techniques and to a higher standard of quality, whilst at the same time enabling more ecologically sound solutions. Although in some key areas of sewage technology microtunnelling is applied up to 50% of the time, the number and range of applications generally lags behind what is technically possible. This text presents the proceedings of an international symposium held in Germany in 1995. The symposium focused on the diversity and range of possible applications, on new developments and trends in machine technology, and on important questions of planning and preparation.
