This text, now in its second edition, contains up-to-date details of recent advances in paediatric cardiac surgery, including improved coverage of myocardial protection, operations, thoracic transplantation, intraoperative echocardiography and transcatheter therapeutic interventions. The chapters in the book discuss embryology, circulatory physiology, diagnostic evaluation, interventional cardiology, anaesthetic management, perioperative care and the role of the nurse practitioner. The remainder is devoted to individual chapters covering all current procedures, including heart, heart-lung and lung transplantation.
