Religion et identité culturelle chez Fichte

Diese Arbeit, die den Darlegungen zur Populärphilosophie und der Diskussion mit der Philosophie Schellings eine bevorzugte Stellung einräumt, bietet eine Interpretation der Beziehungen zwischen Religion und kultureller Identität bei Fichte, die ebensosehr Abstand hält von republikanischen wie von konservativen Interpretationen dieses Autors. Die zentrale These gliedert sich in zwei Schritte: Erstens muß Fichtes Begriff der Religion innerhalb der Totalität seines spekulativen Weges rekonstruiert werden, um seine politische Bedeutung bestimmen zu können. Zweitens muß der gleiche Ansatz auf der Ebene der politischen Urteilsbildung verfolgt werden, wenn man sich die Versuche, über Nationalismus und Pangermanismus hinauszukommen, wirklich aneignen will, die Fichtes kosmopolitische Perspektive ständig anregen. Nur dieser interpretatorische Ansatz erlaubt es, die Aktualität einer politischen Philosophie zu erkennen, die dazu geeignet ist, den post-konventionellen Staat wie eine Sprach- und Schicksalsgemeinschaft für vielfältige Sprachspiele zu betrachten.

This work, which gives a privileged status to the descriptions of popular philosophy and the discussion with the philosophy of Schelling, offers an interpretation of the relations between religion and cultural identity in Fichte which maintains a distance to republican as well as conservative interpretations of this author. The central hypothesis is divided into two steps: firstly, Fichte's concept of religion within the totality of his speculative path must be reconstructed in order to determine its political significance. Secondly, the same approach must be pursued on the level of political judgement formation if one really wants to appropriate the attempts to go beyond nationalism and pangermanism which constantly inform Fichte's cosmopolitan perspective. Only this approach to interpretation makes it possible to recognise the currency of a political philosophy which is suitable for considering the post-conventional state as a community of language and destiny for varied language games.
