Founded in 1976, Chiricu Journal: Latino Literature, Art, and Culture (ISSN 0277-7223) is a pathbreaking multilingual journal in the field of Latino Studies. As a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal, Chiricu provides a unique, critical, and creative space for the examination of Latina and Latino experiences in the United States and in transnational contexts. Conceived as a venue for Latino fiction, poetry, art, and criticism, Chiricu is published in both English and Spanish as well as Portuguese, reflecting the ongoing hemispheric and transnational flows of language and cultures in the Americas. Each semiannual issue (March and September) includes academic, peer-reviewed articles, essays, and reviews and creative works including prose fiction, poetry, and visual arts.
