Samuel Johnson

Arguably one of the three main thinkers of pre-independence America, Samuel Johnson was the chief exponent of Berkeley's idealism and the first president of the religious college that later became Columbia University. Containing his autobiography and correspondence with other important figures of the period, his philosophical and clerical works, and a history of Columbia University, these volumes also contain a bibliography and index.
