International Instruments Related to the Prevention and Suppression of International Terrorism

This publication contains a compilation of various treaties, conventions, protocols and other instruments that have been adopted by the international community in order to combat the global threat of terrorism and reinforce the rule of international law and human rights. It is divided into five parts which deal with: universal treaties; instruments adopted at the regional level; two UN declarations which have provided the legal framework for international action on the prevention and suppression of terrorism in recent years; UN Security Council resolutions; and other instruments and protocols, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions and the 1977 additional Protocols. The publication is not an exhaustive collection, and does not contain bilateral treaties or instruments relating to other forms of criminality such as drug trafficking, the illegal arms trade or money laundering.
