Rob Hawkins started taking, developing and printing photographs when he was eight years old; long before image editing was computerized. After spending three years at university completing a computer-related business studies degree and using a variety of business software, he became a freelance journalist and photographer in 1993. Two years later he started delivering computer training courses and continued his journalism, progressing into computer magazines and writing reviews and technical guides. His photographic and computer skills soon merged into using Photoshop and have helped him enhance his images and create special effects that once took much longer to achieve with camera equipment and a darkroom. Today, Rob is still working as a freelance journalist and photographer and also keeps his hand in the computer training market. He has written two other books for Flame Tree Publishing: Microsoft Excel Made Easy and Microsoft Word Made Easy. His website can be viewed at www.robhawkins.co.uk.
