The Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 introduced a uniform code of law and procedure to regulate issuing of licences by Scottish local authorities for various activities, including taxi and private car hiring, street trading, public entertaining, running a sex shop and second hand dealing. Since 1982 there has been a significant number of cases involving the interpretation of the legislation and providing guidance as to the proper procedure to be followed by local authorities in determining applications for licences. Contents of this work include: Civic Government (Scotland) Act licencing provisions; Parts I, II, III and IV of the 1982 Act (annotated); Schedules 1 and 2 to the 1982 Act (annotated); Statutory Instruments relating to the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 Licencing Provisions; and licences issued under other legislation.
Rezensionen / Stimmen
I welcome this book by Mr. Hajducki and Mr. Stuart as the first comprehensive work on this subject. It will be of considerable assistance to practitioners in the public and private sector. It will also be essential reading for students of the law and procedure relative to the issuing of licences. Andrew R. Hardie Q.C. - Dean of the Faculty of Advocates
