ICE Conciliation Procedure 1988

This "Conciliation Procedure" has been devised by the three bodies involved in the development of the "ICE Conditions of Contract for Minor Works" for use with the new contract or in other contracts where the parties agreed to its use. Although the new procedure can be used in the settlement of any dispute, subject to suitable clauses being agreed in the contract, the very nature of a minor works contract lends itself to the use of a conciliation procedure rather than the more formal and expensive arbitration procedure. For this reason a copy of the new procedure is included as a loose insert in the "ICE Conditions of Contract for Minor Works" for inclusion in the contract at the discretion of the parties involved.
