Beautifully illustrated official U.S. Government tells provides a firsthand account of suprising archaeological discoveries and tells a fascinating story, punctuated by volcanic eruptions and floods, pixies and small tools, strange newcomers and unexplaines disappearances, and puzzled engravings on river pebbles. It is hoped that the publication will serve as as primary resource for teachers of Alaska History and that it will inspire student interest in the prehistory and history of this great region.
