The work on affine differential geometry started with W. Blaschke and his coworkers around 1920. This book presents this theory in a modern form, which makes it easily accessible for non-specialists in the domain. In the later chapters, the emphasis is put on recent results dealing with various special classes of affine hypersurfaces (affine maximal hypersurfaces, affine homogeneous hypersurfaces, parallel hypersurfaces, hypersurfaces with constant sectional curvatures) and with the higher codimension theory. Each chapter is also concluded with a list of related theorems and some open problems in the domain.
