The Irish Law Officers

This is a revised version of "The Office of the Attorney General in Ireland" by James Casey, published in 1980. It is divided into two main sections, addressing in turn the history and changing significance of the roles of Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecutions in Ireland. These sections enable the reader to compare and contrast the role and responsibility of each office. The text features concise biographies for every holder of the Attorney General's office since 1922. It also discusses all recent substantial legal changes affecting the Director of Public Prosecutions.
