Description
This Book about the education of creativity is concerned with the body of knowledge pertaining to the development and improvement of creativity skills and behaviors of children and adults and in the application of this knowledge base to education practice. Part One introduces definitions of creativity and the methods of research used to study it. Part Two describes four theoretical approaches to creativity study. Various instruments, procedures, tests, and tasks related to the approaches are included. Part Three discusses applications and the book concludes with a brief description of an educational psychology of creativity. Each chapter begins with an organizer followed by a short list of specific objectives and a chapter outline. The book has been written as a reference and as a text that could be used in a college or university course in creativity that has education as a focus. It could also be used in preservice programs for students beginning their professional studies to become teachers or for in-service programs for the practicing professional.
