As an educator, teaching from books like Milady, Pivot Point and Clic (IYKYK), one of the most intense chapters was the Histology of the skin (integumentary system) because it was so detailed and very intense but very necessary. It just so happens to be one of my favorite topics to teach. Our bodies are complex, and the integumentary system is very complicated, but it was one subject I could really understand and absolutely love!
As I have decided, to now teach to Body contouring, I am seeing an influx on the need for active body contouring specialist to understand skin and lymph as it relates to what we do. To not know skin and lymph as a BC specialist is to not know you need 4 tires to drive a car....
Therefore I have created a very simple guide to a complex subject, which is understanding skin and lymph, with us body contouring specialist in mind. This easy to understand, but straight to the point from a beauty industry vet with a "teacher" vibe, lesson on how and what you need to know to become a successful BC specialist!

Person
I am currently licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Arts and in Virginia before that. I have been in the beauty industry actively and continuously for 18 years as well as a Cosmetology educator for 17 of those same years. I absolutely love and have a passion for any and everything beauty. I am from Los Angeles and as far back as I can remember growing up in Cali (in the 80's) watching my mother and her Beverly Hills friends use some of the same beauty tools that are very popular today. Body contouring and sculpting has been around for ages. Technology has evolved for the better (less painful).
