Die kritische Philosophie Kants markiert das Ende einer zweitausendjährigen Tradition der Metaphysik. Ihr stellte Kant eine neue Metaphysik der Erkenntnis und der menschlichen Freiheit entgegen, deren Prinzip die vernünftige Autonomie des Subjekts ist. Davon geht die Philosophie nach Kant aus. Unter der Leitung des Prinzips der Subjektivität sucht sie zu einer einheitlichen, in einem System der Vernunft organisierten Verständigung über das Ganze der Welt zu gelangen. Damit erhält die Idee der klassischen Metaphysik noch einmal eine neue, bis heute kontrovers diskutierte Interpretation. Der 5. Band des Jahrbuchs geht in zwölf Beiträgen unter der Perspektive aktueller Problemlagen den höchst unterschiedlichen Formen der Begründung einer Metaphysik nach Kant nach.
 
Kant's critical philosophy marks the end of a two-thousand year tradition of metaphysics. Against this older tradition, Kant proposes a new metaphysics of knowledge and human freedom with the autonomy of the subject as its principle. Led by the principle of subjectivity, it attempts to obtain a unified understanding of the whole world organized into a system of reason. In this way, the idea of classical metaphysics receives a new controversial interpretation still discussed today. In twelve contributions, the fifth volume of the Yearbook pursues the different forms of groundingmetaphysics after Kant.
