Mobile Apps

The term "app" typically refers to software applications run on mobile devices. The market for apps has grown explosively in recent years. From a legal point of view, however, mobile apps largely represent uncharted territory. Many important legal questions have yet to be clarified. This volume explains the legal basis for the creation, sale, and use of mobile applications.
 
Unter einer "App" (Kurzform aus dem englischen für Application) versteht man technisch ein Software (Anwendungs-)Programm. Seit Apple diesen Begriff für dessen "App-Store" etabliert hat, findet der Begriff App gemeinhin für Softwareanwendungen bei mobilen Endgeräten, also Handys, Smartphones, Tablets etc. Verwendung. Der Markt für Apps explodiert. Aus juristischer Sicht handelt es sich bei Apps jedoch weitgehend um Neuland. Wichtige Rechtsfragen sind teilweise noch ungeklärt. Es werden die rechtlichen Grundlagen bei der Konzeption, dem Vertrieb und dem Einsatz von Apps erläutert.
