Shailja Sharma, BBA (Management), MBA (Marketing), MTM, Ph.D., UGC (NET & JRF), is currently working as Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) at the Noida, India campus of the Institute. She is a certified trainer by the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA), London, and has been instrumental in training over 3000 tour guides and leaders. Sharma has played a key role in the development of the 'Fundamental Glossary for Tourism' by the Commission of Scientific and Technical Terminology, Ministry of HRD, Government of India, and has contributed as an expert reviewer for the NCERT book on tour guiding for Class 12. She has also contributed significantly to the design and development of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for IGNOU under the initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), expanding the reach of quality education in tourism to a global audience through digital platforms.
