Home Economics and Food Technology

This text is aimed at students following courses in GCSE and Standard Grade home economics, food science and nutrition. Workshop sections give students plenty of practice and include practical exercises and investigation. Subjects covered include nutrition, meal planning, food types, preparation and cooking, food hygiene, consumer education, safety and kitchen planning. The increasingly important topic of food technology is covered as is consumer credit and food additives. The study of nutrition also gives the facts and figures which affect our diet, now and into the 1990s.
