Reviews / Votes
Once regarded as boring, the variety of soups now on offer in supermarkets grows by the day. But why waste money on buying them when they are so easy to make yourself? Often not even requiring a blender, they are quick and simple to throw together - for a snack, starter or meal-in-one. Cookery writer Elsa Petersen-Schepelern, in conjunction with photographer Peter Cassidy, offers a wonderful, lavishly illustrated selection of soups from around the world: iced beetroot soup for a hot summer's day, spicy Goan chicken soup to warm you up on a chilly winter's evening, classic clam chowder and French onion soup, exotic Japanese miso soup or Italian ministra di farno. The range is vast. All clearly explained, Elsa also includes tips on techniques, ingredients and toppings to enable you to make up your own recipes, making this THE soup book to have on your shelves. - Lucy WatsonMore details
