The Relevance of Whitehead

Alfred Whitehead realized he was living at the end of the epoch of "the cosmology of the 17th century, whose chief authors were Galileo, Descartes, Newton and Locke". He thought that the fundamental need of his time was a reorganization of basic cosmological schemes of ideas.
