Description
Comprehensive Structural Integrity, Second Edition, a Ten Volume Set, provides material scientists and engineers with an authoritative and complete one-stop reference tool on all aspects of this exciting field. The book puts special emphasis on the interaction between mechanics and materials and structural integrity applications. Because of the interdisciplinary and applied nature of the work, it is an indispensable resource for mechanical engineers and materials scientists from both academic and industrial backgrounds, including bioengineering, interface engineering and nanotechnology.
Structural Integrity is the ability of a component, structure or asset to operate properly under the pressure of a load, including the weight of the asset itself. It's a vital consideration for structural engineering: essentially the science and technology which can prevent disaster.

Ferri Aliabadi has authored and co-authored three books, edited 50 state of the art books and 48 conference proceedings. He has published close to 400 papers in international journals and similar number in conference proceedings. He is currently Editor in chief of the International Journal of Multiscale Modelling (2009-), and on the Editorial Board of several other journals - Electronic Journal for Boundary Elements, International Journal of Computer Modeling in Engineering and Sciences, Engineering Analysis with Boundary Elements, and Advances in Aerodynamics. Prior to joining WPI, Dr. Soboyejo was a Professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University for approximately 17 years. He is a materials scientist whose research focuses on biomaterials and the use of nanoparticles for the detection and treatment of disease, the mechanical properties of materials, and the use of materials science to promote global development.
